16A Secret Sauce

1) I believe the things that make me different from everyone else is that I care way too much about what I'm doing and the people in my life. Everyone always says they "care too much" but when I say it, I mean it. I work in a high school to teach female athletes about becoming better athletes and better students and it's what I love to do. Not many people can say they enjoy being a coach for the younger generations being how society is today but I can say I enjoy every second of it. I am passionate about the work I do and how I do it. There are times when I will get really angry if things aren't done properly but I will get over it and continue moving on to be better. With anything I want to do, I try to do it the best I can be and I will try to be better at all costs.

2) When it comes to interviewing people for this class, it gets difficult for me. I work 60 hours a week and on top of that I am a full time high school basketball coach. For these interviews, I asked people to record themselves with questions that I wanted them to answer about me.

- This is one of my closest friends since the 6th grade. She states the type of person I am and how I connect well with others. I personally don't realize how well I can network within my field or even outside my field until someone tells me about it.

- This my coworker who I have worked with for the past three years. He talks about the passion and knowledge that I have for sports. Sports is everything that I know and everything that I will continue to know until I retire. He relates to me with sports and the care in the world.

- This is someone I have known for the past two years and I have grown close with him. He said that I am on a goal to be successful, which is true. I work towards what I want and I won't finish until I'm done.

- This is someone I have been friends with for the past three years. She knows me better than most people. She understands the reason why I am in school and why I work within the high school.

3) I see myself in a way that others see differently. I know the three people that I uploaded videos of know that my knowledge for things that I'm interested in goes above and beyond. I think my interviewees are correct about me because they see the true side of me and they get the same Nicole everyday no matter what the day is or what kind of day I am having. I don't think I would change anything from the first list because I know who I am and I am true to that.

  1. Nicole this was a great post! I love to watch the interviews and listen how other people see you and what they think about you! Great job! I wish I can know a little bit more about sports! I feel that you almost an expert on that field! Being an athlete takes a lot of effort and discipline. That is admirable. Now I can see why you worry so much about college athletes and why do you want to develop your idea. Good luck with it! You have the passion and all the ingredients to make it happen!

  2. Hey Nicole!
This was an awesome post, definitely the best one I have seen so far this semester! I also stated that I would not change what I think about myself based on what my friends said about me. It is good to be true to yourself and not let anyone change your mind of the way you view yourself. I also think it is cool that you are into sports because a lot of my friends do not know anything about sports and I personally love them myself.

  3. I definitely agree that setting up the interviews was hard because I work 60 hours a week as well, and powerlift so I do not have that much free time after including time spent doing classwork. I usually spend 40 hours of my week as an electrician, and the other 20 that I get paid for I work part time on a small horse farm in Morriston. I found that it was easier to get audio only recordings from my friends as most of them do not like being in front of a camera. What made you go back to school to get a new degree?
