Nicole, I absolutely agree with your statement! College athletes deserve better because it is so hard to study and be an athlete at the same time. They actually are under a lot of stress and they do their best to represent their school because they know that if they do so, they might have the chance to play in professional leagues in the future. I think is not fair they do not get pay for all their effort. Good video and very informative!

ReplyDeleteI very much agree with your statement that college student athletes do deserve to get paid for their skills and their time. Being a student athlete is similar to having a full-time job in college, so it would make sense for the athlete to be paid for their time and efforts. I found your video very informative in explaining how student athletes would benefit from earning an income and also learning how to manage their finances.
Nicole, your opening is good but there is not a whole lot of detail about the Fair Pay to Play Act. You could also have some more detail about the NCAA. For example, the NCAA had more than $1 Billion in revenue in 2018 but 75% of the revenue is generated by from the TV contracts for the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament.
